Join the Berkman Klein Center and the AI Safety Student Team for a speaker series on AI governance! Free breakfast will be provided, RSVP here 🙂 About the Event CSET researchers have identified three principles for effective AI governance: policymakers should 1) monitor the landscape of AI risk, 2) promote AI literacy among themselves and the public, and 3) develop policies that can adapt to rapid technological changes. Kendrea will unpack these principles and share insights on their implementation, highlighting topics such as sociotechnical AI safety and privacy-preserving external scrutiny of AI systems. Free breakfast will be provided. About the Speaker Kendrea Beers is a Horizon Junior Fellow at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), where she works on the Foundational Research Grants team and the CyberAI Project. While completing her MS in Artificial Intelligence at Oregon State University, she conducted research in AI safety and co-led the AI Graduate Student Association. She also holds a BS in Philosophy with minors in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Oregon State University Honors College. She has conducted AI governance research at Cornell University and computer science research at Galois and the University of Notre Dame. |
