 p><p>CSET researchers have identified three principles for effective AI gov
 ernance: policymakers should 1) monitor the landscape of AI risk\, 2) promo
 te AI literacy among themselves and the public\, and 3) develop policies th
 at can adapt to rapid technological changes. Kendrea will unpack these prin
 ciples and share insights on their implementation\, highlighting topics suc
 h as sociotechnical AI safety and privacy-preserving external scrutiny of A
 I systems.</p><p>Free breakfast will be provided.</p><p><strong>About the S
 peaker</strong></p><p>Kendrea Beers is a Horizon Junior Fellow at Georgetow
 n’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET)\, where she works on
  the Foundational Research Grants team and the CyberAI Project. While compl
 eting her MS in Artificial Intelligence at Oregon State University\, she co
 nducted research in AI safety and co-led the AI Graduate Student Associatio
 n. She also holds a BS in Philosophy with minors in Mathematics and Compute
 r Science from the Oregon State University Honors College. She has conducte
 d AI governance research at Cornell University and computer science researc
 h at Galois and the University of Notre Dame.</td></tr></tbody></table>
