Antitrust 101: Lessons from the Field
October 23, 2025
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm
WCC; 1023 Classroom
Join the HLS Antitrust Association for a conversation with Zak Goodwin, a partner in Ropes and Gray’s antitrust practice. Zak rejoined Ropes and Gray in 2024 after serving as antitrust counsel at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a Fortune 500 life sciences company. Prior to first joining Ropes & Gray, Zak was a trial attorney in the Technology and Financial Services Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.
Zak will share insights from his experiences across private practice, in-house counsel, and government enforcement, offering a rare perspective on antitrust law from all sides of the field. The conversation will explore foundational antitrust principles and how they apply in real-world contexts, connecting core theory with practical lessons from Zak’s work on major merger reviews and conduct investigations.
Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP here:
