Taz Shahabuddin J.D. ’12

Tazneen Shahabuddin works on the prosecution of war crimes and crimes against humanity as well as the investigation and prosecution of crimes involving witness intimidation and obstruction of justice. She was formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey for nearly seven years, where she prosecuted cases involving narcotics trafficking and public corruption. After law school, she clerked for New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice Barry T. Albin and District Court Judge John Gleeson at U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She also worked at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York as an associate in the firm’s litigation department.

As a student at Harvard Law School, Taz was a senior editor of the Harvard International Law Journal, an executive board member of the Harvard Law and International Development Society, and a clinical student at the International Human Rights Clinic. She worked as a research assistant to Professor Kenneth Mack and a resident pre-law tutor at Pforzheimer House, Harvard College. She interned at Amnesty International in New York, the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice in New Orleans, and the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
