Roland Ewubare LL.M.’98
Roland Ewubare is a retired private investor and global business leader who has held top management roles in Nigeria and the United States. In June 2020, he retired as Chief Operating Officer (Joint Ventures and Business Development) at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Before this role, he served as Group General Manager of NNPC’s National Petroleum Investments Management Services. In this position he was responsible for managing Nigeria’s commercial relationships with international and local oil companies, with an annual work program and budget in excess of 15 billion dollars.
Earlier in his career, Roland held senior positions at Schlumberger. He was Corporate Counsel in New York, General Counsel of NPTest (a Schlumberger subsidiary) in California, and later served as the Executive Director of Schlumberger Nigeria. Before joining Schlumberger, Roland was a Corporate Associate at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York.
Roland holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ife in Nigeria; a Master of Laws degree in International Business Law from the Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London; and a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School.
