Laura Stein serves as Executive Vice President, Corporate & Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Mondelēz International. Previously, Laura was Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Affairs of The Clorox Company, and Senior Vice President – General Counsel of H.J. Heinz Company. In her 25+ years as the chief legal officer of large global consumer product companies, Laura’s responsibilities have included global oversight of legal, compliance, enterprise risk management, internal audit, security, insurance, crisis management and business continuity functions, as well as corporate reputation agendas, including sustainability, public and government affairs, internal and external corporate communications, community and foundation efforts.

Laura has served as a non-executive director of large global public companies, including as the former lead independent director and chair of the Corporate Governance Committee of Franklin Templeton, Inc., and as a former director and chair of the Environmental, Safety & Security Committee and of the Pension & Investment Committee of Canadian National Railway. In addition, she also previously served on the boards of JDE Peet’s (now part of Keurig Dr. Pepper) and of Nash Finch Company (now part of C&S Wholesale Grocers).

Laura’s extensive non-profit board service has focused on pro bono and the rule of law. Currently, she is a member of the American Law Institute Council, the Leaders Council of the Legal Service Corporation, the Advisory Board of the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession, the Dartmouth College Alumni Council, the Pro Bono Institute and the CEELI Institute. Laura received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where she earned undergraduate and master’s degrees. She has lived in Europe and China and speaks Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and some French and Portuguese.
