David L. Stivers is a hospitality leader with more than 30 years of executive experience driving innovation, operational excellence, and sustained growth in the hospitality, golf, and real estate industries. Since his appointment as President and CEO of Pebble Beach Company in 2021, he has led the organization’s diverse portfolio, which includes hotels, restaurants, golf courses, tournaments, retail, spa, private clubs, and real estate development. David has been a member of the company’s executive team for 26 years. Under his leadership, Pebble Beach Company has achieved record financial performance (revenue over $500 million) and operational excellence, while continuing to enhance its iconic brand and world class service. David reports to the company’s board of directors.

Known for his ability to lead complex organizations, David has successfully fostered a goals-oriented and collaborative workplace culture that empowers teams and drives strategic growth. He is deeply committed to creating long-term shareholder value through innovation, strong financial management, and business development.

Prior to joining the Pebble Beach Company, David held key executive roles at Promus Hotels, including as the leader of the boutique hotel and university hotel portfolios. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Vice President, New Business and General Counsel at Doubletree Corporation. He oversaw hotel management and franchise development, legal, and mergers and acquisitions. His career began in corporate law at Latham & Watkins, with a focus on corporate finance and M&A. His legal experience provides him with a strong foundation in transactional and strategic matters that continues to inform his leadership today.

David is a dedicated philanthropist whose efforts have significantly advanced youth education and career development in Monterey County. Most recently, he established a first-of-its-kind Scholars Program at Cal State Monterey Bay, offering both scholarships and hands-on work experience to students pursuing careers in hospitality.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he played football and baseball, and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. He is married with four children and three grandchildren.
