David L. Stivers is a hospitality leader with more than 30 years of executive experience driving innovation\, operational excellence\, and sust ained growth in the hospitality\, golf\, and real estate industries. Since his appointment as President and CEO of Pebble Beach Company in 2021\, he h as led the organization’s diverse portfolio\, which includes hotels\, resta urants\, golf courses\, tournaments\, retail\, spa\, private clubs\, and re al estate development. David has been a member of the company’s executive t eam for 26 years. Under his leadership\, Pebble Beach Company has achieved record financial performance (revenue over $500 million) and operational ex cellence\, while continuing to enhance its iconic brand and world class ser vice. David reports to the company’s board of directors.
Known for hi s ability to lead complex organizations\, David has successfully fostered a goals-oriented and collaborative workplace culture that empowers teams and drives strategic growth. He is deeply committed to creating long-term shar eholder value through innovation\, strong financial management\, and busine ss development.
Prior to joining the Pebble Beach Company\, David hel d key executive roles at Promus Hotels\, including as the leader of the bou tique hotel and university hotel portfolios. Earlier in his career\, he ser ved as Senior Vice President\, New Business and General Counsel at Doubletr ee Corporation. He oversaw hotel management and franchise development\, leg al\, and mergers and acquisitions. His career began in corporate law at Lat ham & Watkins\, with a focus on corporate finance and M&A. His legal experi ence provides him with a strong foundation in transactional and strategic m atters that continues to inform his leadership today.
David is a dedi cated philanthropist whose efforts have significantly advanced youth educat ion and career development in Monterey County. Most recently\, he establish ed a first-of-its-kind Scholars Program at Cal State Monterey Bay\, offerin g both scholarships and hands-on work experience to students pursuing caree rs in hospitality.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Uni versity of California\, Berkeley\, where he played football and baseball\, and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. He is married with four chil dren and three grandchildren.
