Arturo Gonzalez J.D. ’85
Arturo González is a trial lawyer and chair of Morrison & Foerster’s (MoFo) Commercial Litigation and Trial Practice Group and past co-chair of MoFo’s Litigation Department. He is a Fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. Arturo has tried cases for Apple, Uber, VMware, Cypress Semiconductor, Bank of America, Bank of the West, and Del Monte.
Arturo was MoFo’s lead trial counsel for Uber in the high profile Waymo v. Uber litigation regarding the future of autonomous vehicles. In addition, he has successfully defended three other trials where plaintiffs sought more than $1 billion in damages, including a trade secrets case on behalf of Cypress Semiconductor and winning a class action trial for Bank of America. His third billion-dollar trial victory was a defense verdict for a Director of the Oakland- Alameda County Coliseum sued for fraud by the Oakland Raiders. Mr. González has also won four verdicts in excess of $10 million, including verdicts of $39.3 and $13.8 million in trade secrets cases, with the juries finding willful misappropriation.
