LL.M. Job Search Timeline

In order to give your job search an overarching structure, below is a loose timeline for your job search. You will, of course, need to adjust the timeline to take into account the hiring practices of the types of organizations you are targeting. Be sure to work with an OPIA advisor to tailor this timeline for your specific needs.

Fall
- Familiarize yourself with OPIA website.
- Build a U.S.-style resume.
- Attend OPIA events.
- Conduct self-assessment.
- Meet with OPIA advisers.
- Become involved with the public interest community.
- Network.
- Speak with Peter O’Meara at Harvard International Office.
- Apply for early fellowship opportunities.
Winter
- Read OPIA emails and blog.
- Continue to network.
- Apply for applicable jobs/fellowships and schedule an advising appointment with Judy Murciano, Director of Fellowships.
Spring
- Continue to network.
- Continue to apply for applicable jobs/fellowships and schedule advising appointments as necessary with Judy Murciano, Director of Fellowships.
