Our Newest Admissions Fellows

This fall, you met our Admissions Fellows — current HLS students who work with our office on campus tours, recruitment events in Boston/Cambridge, and Admitted Student Weekends. We have recently welcomed a new class of Fellows to join the team, and want to introduce them to you below! Kelly Ganon: 3L originally from New Jersey, but has called Massachusetts “home” since starting college at Northeastern University. Prior to law school, she spent two years getting trial experience as a paralegal in the Economic Crimes Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office here in Boston. She spent her 1L summer in the Trial Division at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and her 2L summer in the Litigation & Enforcement Practice Group at Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston. At HLS, she is a board member of the Women’s Law Association and an Executive Editor for the Harvard Law & Policy Review. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys distance running (slowly), travel, and attempting to get her Black Lab, Luna, to stop chewing her textbooks.

Zach Gray: 3L from Torrance, CA (Los Angeles County). Prior to HLS, he graduated from Duke (2014), worked as an administrator at a law firm, a LSAT tutor on the side, and traveled through Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. He spent his 1L summer in the anti-money laundering division of the Central Bank of the Philippines and his 2L summer at Latham & Watkins LLP in its Century City and Los Angeles offices. He plans to work on venture capital and emerging growth company matters post-graduation, but remains interested in international law as well. This year, he is co-president of the West Coast Club and an editor on the Harvard Business Law Review. He is a big fan of television (only while in law school), music festivals, the beach, hiking, and all things free.

Kendall Howell: 3L from Keene, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to law school, he served in the United States Army as a Field Artillery Officer. He is interested in securities regulation, financial institutions regulation and sports law. He interned with the Boston Celtics while in law school and is involved with the Board of Student Advisers and Black Law Students Association (BLSA). In his free time, Kendall enjoys playing golf and basketball, but most of all, hanging out with his wife Michelle and son Noah.

Danielle Moody: 3L from O’Fallon, Illinois. Attended Spelman College. Prior to law school, she served with AmeriCorps as an English tutor, after-school coordinator, and mentor in a Chicago public high school for a year. At HLS, she’s a student attorney with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and an active member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). She spent her 1L and 2L summers at the New York office of Kramer Levin. In her free time, Danielle loves to cook and spend time with her friends.

Rachel Newell: 3L from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, now lives in Australia. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. Prior to law school she was a coach at a soccer club on the Great Barrier Reef. At HLS Rachel is on the law school soccer team, a member of the Women’s Law Association, and wrote for the Journal of Law and Technology summer digest. She spent her 1L summer at Wayfair where she learned a lot but can’t claim to be a talented interior designer. She spent her 2L summer at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in Washington, DC. She is a big Lord of the Rings fan, skier, and British comedy enthusiast.

Chase Browndorf: 2L originally from Yardley, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017, where he majored in government and interned in several state and federal government offices. At HLS, he is involved in Student Government, Texas Club, Prison Legal Assistance Program (PLAP), Harvard Business Law Review, and the Federalist Society (FedSoc). He split his 1L summer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix, AZ and at the Texas Solicitor General’s Office in Austin. For his 2L summer, he will be at a firm in Houston. Chase is always available to talk Philadelphia Eagles or Longhorns Football.

D Dangaran: 2L from Wahiawa, Hawaii. A first-generation college student, D graduated from Yale in 2015 and then worked for two years at Yale-NUS College in Singapore. They are actively involved with Harvard Law Review, Harvard Journal of Law and Gender, and Lambda, and also a member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Queer Trans People of Color (QTPOC), and HLS First Class. They were previously involved with Tenant Advocacy Project and Prison Legal Assistance Program, and spent 1L summer (funded by Summer Public Interest Funding and the Human Rights Program Fellowship) in a small impact litigation nonprofit in Cape Town, South Africa called Lawyers for Human Rights, focusing on gender equality. D is interested in health and human rights for gender and sexual minorities, particularly gender-based violence faced by transgender women (prisoners) of color. They are curious about restorative justice as a long-term goal, and hopes to use critical race theory as a tool to get there. D loves poetry slams and Zumba, and they sang worldwide with their college a cappella group.

Aseem Jha: 2L from Lisle, IL. Before law school, he worked for a summer at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Indianapolis as an IP Technical Analyst but otherwise went straight through from undergrad. He studied electrical engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and is particularly interested in intellectual property law. He has also been involved in local government, so public service and policy is another area of interest. At HLS, he is involved with the Journal of Law and Technology (JOLT), the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA), the HLS Mediation Program, the HLS Negotiators Program, and the Federalist Society (FedSoc). This past summer, he worked as a summer associate at Jones Day’s Chicago office. Other interests include studying languages, listening to Indian classical music, running, and following the news.

Joey Montgomery: 2L from Washington, Indiana. He attended Indiana University and recently transferred to Harvard Law School from Northwestern. Before law school, he worked as a police officer back in Indiana and also ran a Congressional office for his home Member of Congress. Joey spent his 1L summer at Sidley Austin in Houston doing M&A and capital markets work and will be spending his 2L summer with Sidley’s Washington, DC office doing white collar defense and investigations work. In law school, he is involved with the Federalist Society (FedSoc) and is on the Journal of Law and Public Policy. In his spare time, Joey enjoys distance running, reading, staying up-to-date on politics, and getting up early on weekend mornings to watch European soccer.

Kelley McGill: 2L from Kirby, Vermont. She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Before HLS, she worked for an environmental consulting firm in Cambridge for several years. At HLS, she is a mediator with the Harvard Mediation Program, a board member of HLS Effective Altruism and Animal Law Society, a research assistant, and a member of the Harvard University Council for Student Sustainability Leaders, Harvard Environmental Law Review, and HLS Food Law Society. During her 1L summer, she worked as a litigation clerk for the Animal Legal Defense Fund. She is also a scuba diver, a backpacking enthusiast, and a pretty good mechanic.

Heather Pickerell: 2L from Hong Kong. She graduated from Harvard College in 2015. Prior to law school, she was based out of D.C. and worked as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, where she served on a contract for the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review. At HLS, she is the Co-President of Lambda, the Executive Technical Editor of the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and a student attorney with Harvard Defenders. She is interested in public interest work and spent her 1L summer at the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. She is a huge film buff, loves books, and is always looking for the next good hike.

Mitchell Santos Toledo: 2L from Toluca, Mexico, raised in South Los Angeles, CA. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Santa Monica College. Prior to law school, he worked as a legal assistant at an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles and as a Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Law Fellow at Davis Polk & Wardwell in Silicon Valley. He spent his 1L summer as a law clerk at MALDEF in Los Angeles. At HLS, he is a Vice President of La Alianza, a member of the West Coast Law Students Association, a junior editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review, and a part of the Harvard Immigration Project and HLS First Class. He is a passionate sports fan and immigrant rights advocate. In his spare time, he likes procrastinating with reruns of The Office and looking at pictures of dogs to get once he graduates.

Genevieve Antono: 1L from Singapore and Indonesia. She graduated from Columbia University and The University of Hong Kong. Prior to law school, she worked as a Legal and Compliance Analyst at The Blackstone Group and interned at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz through the SEO Law Fellowship Program. At HLS, she is a board member of the Harvard Association for Law and Business (HALB) and is involved with the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA). She is interested in working on corporate matters after graduation and committed to supporting women and minorities in the legal profession. She wishes that she was interested in going to the gym; actual interests include eating fried food, drinking beer, and watching cat videos on Instagram.

Sheridan Cunningham: 1L from Toronto, Canada. Before attending HLS, they completed their undergraduate degree in philosophy and the University of Toronto and worked as a campaign staffer for a provincial election campaign. At HLS, Sheridan is the 1L Representative for the Canadian Law Students Association, a member of the Prison Legal Assistance Project (PLAP), and a Junior Editor for the Harvard Law & Policy Review. When they have time outside of class, Sheridan enjoys cycling, writing, and political hot takes.

Sydney Hood: 1L from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Duke University in 2016, where she majored in Public Policy Studies. Prior to law school, she worked for the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) in Austin, Texas, where she performed investment research for hedge funds. At HLS, she serves as the 1L Student Council Representative for Section 5. She is also part of the Recording Artists Project (RAP), Harvard International Law Journal, Women’s Law Association (Partnership Committee), and Texas Club. In her free time, she particularly enjoys trying out new restaurants, seeing/watching movies, making Academy Awards predictions, and riding her bike around Cambridge.

Andrea Loera: 1L born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and raised in Austin, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Prior to law school, she worked as an immigration student adviser at UT Austin. Before that, she worked as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm in Austin. At HLS, she is the Section 1 representative of La Alianza, a member of the Texas Club, and a subciter in the International Law Journal. Andrea is passionate about immigration, human rights, and housing rights. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Boston coffee shops and bars, dancing (poorly) to Latin music, and cuddling with her two cats.

Ken Pearson: 1L originally from Ketchikan, Alaska. Ken graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2012 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Sociology, and then joined the Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer Officer. At HLS, he is involved with the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, Harvard Mountaineering Club, Environmental Law Society, and is the social chair of the Section 5 leadership committee. Ken is a lover of all things mountain, especially climbing, backpacking, and skiing. An avid outdoorsman, Ken believes success at Harvard should comfortably co-exist with frequent trips into nature.

N. Nima Shamtoub: 1L from Los Angeles, California. He studied Biomedical Engineering at Washington U in St. Louis and graduated in 2018. During his time as an undergraduate he started a biotech company in which he developed two surgical tools. At HLS, he is the 1L representative for the Technology Committee, a published Journal of Law and Technology contributor, and an active member of several student organizations including the Middle Eastern Law Students Association, the Jewish Law Students Association, and the West Coast Law Students Association. He is interested in intellectual property and corporate law. He plans to continue developing his projects in engineering and biotech during his time as a student. He enjoys swimming, snowboarding, meditating, and chess.

Sabri Siraj: 1L from Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Arizona State University. Prior to law school, Sabri spent time volunteering as a peer mentor for The Obama Foundation, in addition to working as a SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) Law Fellow at the law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP in San Francisco. Additionally, he spent this past summer interning in Congress. At HLS, Sabri is a student attorney with the Prison Legal Assistance Project (PLAP), and is a member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Harvard African Law Association (HALA). Sabri is a passionate basketball and Game of Thrones fan, and in his spare time he enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and hanging out with family and friends.

Kyle Skinner: 1L from Jonesboro, GA. Kyle is a first-generation college student from Georgia who graduated from Yale with both his B.A. and Ph.D. in Italian Literature. Kyle is a lead outside article editor for the Harvard Civil-Rights Civil-Liberties Law Review, a student attorney with the Prison Legal Assistance Program (PLAP), and active on the Harvard Law & Policy Review. He is a mediocre cellist, has an unhealthy obsession with iced coffee, and has a collection of banned children’s books.
