Before coming to HLS, Angel specialized in the Inter-American Human Rights System and has represented victims of severe human rights violations as part of the CMDPDH (Comisión Mexicana de Defensa y Promoción de Derechos Humanos). Passionate about promoting democracy in Latin-America, Angel focused academically on the impact of human rights litigation within the region. At HLS, Angel worked on transnational advocacy projects through the Harvard International Human Rights Clinic and as member of HLS Advocates for Human Rights. He was also part of the Harvard International Law Journal and was selected as a Harvard Salzuburg-Cutler Fellow 2016. He holds a first degree in law from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.
