    Each year many students consult the employment evaluations submitted by their peers to differentiate firms, prepare for interviews and make decisions on offers. We ask that you please pay it forward by completing the Summer Employment Evaluation of your 2022 private sector summer work experience.

  • Timing Guidelines and Responding to Offers

    Offers may come soon after callback interviews, and we want to remind you about the timing guidelines for responding to offers. Employers participating in our on-campus recruitment programs agree to comply with our employer recruiting policies regarding these timing guidelines, and it is important that you understand the guidelines.

    We hope you had a good EIP week and enjoyed your interviews. We understand that some of you may be concerned if you have few or no callback interviews scheduled. While some callbacks may still come in, it is best to be proactive because the process moves quickly.

  • Preview Offer Deadlines and Planning Ahead

    If you have an offer from Preview, be sure you understand our policies on holding offers. If you asked for an extension until August 19 in order to participate in EIP, you will need to plan your EIP callbacks carefully, and be mindful of that upcoming deadline.

  • EIP Day Five: Take Care of Yourself

    No matter how you feel the EIP process is going, take some time to celebrate the accomplishment of getting through the week. Also, take time to relax and recharge this weekend so that you can put your best foot forward during your callback interviews.

  • Try to Create a Balanced Callback Schedule

    If you have received multiple callback invitations, just as we advised during bidding, we urge you to keep your callback schedule balanced: have at least one firm on your schedule where you feel relatively optimistic that you will receive an offer.

  • Pick Up the Phone

    August 5, 2022

    If you are having a hard time scheduling an interview or otherwise reaching an employer, try picking up the phone and calling rather than sending emails back and forth. The recruiting season moves quickly, and recruiting teams receive hundreds of emails per day, and sometimes calling will save you and them time.

  • Is No News Good News?

    You may have received emails letting you know that a particular firm will not be inviting you for a callback. There are likely other firms from which you have not heard back.

  • Concerned About Your EIP Results?

  • Preview Offer Decisions

    If you have offers from Preview, you may have sought an extension until after EIP. With EIP Week behind you, you should again evaluate your offers and promptly decline any offers you feel confident you will not accept.

  • Feeling Concerned? Bid on Resume Collection Firms While You Can

    If you haven’t received as many callback invitations as you hoped or are otherwise feeling concerned, review the EIP Resume Collection firms. Bidding remains open through 12 noon ET on tomorrow, Friday, August 5.

  • Declining or Canceling Excess Callbacks

    It’s exciting to receive numerous callbacks from your hard work this week. If you have offers from Preview, you should only schedule callbacks you are genuinely considering at this stage. If you are no longer interested, it is appropriate to decline or cancel a callback.

  • Callback Travel Arrangements

    Some firms may offer the opportunity to do your callback interviews in-person or to visit the office after receiving an offer. The callback and travel arrangements page in the callbacks section of our website (bit.ly/hlscallbacks) has detailed guidance on how to handle expenses, including how to handle trips where you may be meeting with more than one employer.

    Make sure to continue to update your EIP Interview Tracker. Your responses are crucial as we crowdsource information for your classmates. Our callback list – which allows you and your classmates to track your progress – is only as good as the information we receive.
