SPIF Loan Eligibility

Harvard Law students who are recipients of SPIF during the summer are eligible to request a SPIF loan in the amount of $1,300 to help cover summer expenses. This loan is a 5% subsidized Harvard Law School institutional loan, and is optional.

Disbursement of Loan

SPIF Loan funds will be created three times over the course of the summer. All funds will be direct deposited into the bank account you have set up with your academic year student account (the same account used for your other academic year refunds and advances.) To check this direct deposit bank account information on record or to sign up for it, go to http://sfs.harvard.edu/direct-deposit.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a separate deposit system from any direct deposit information you have given the SPIF program for your stipend or weekly pay check.
