Offices and Other Workspaces
The following rules apply to individual occupants and users of offices and other HLS workspaces. Exceptions may be granted in writing by the HLS Dean for Administration for HLS-sanctioned events (such as the annual Trick-or-Treat Suites competition).
- For the interior of offices and other workspaces, including cubicles, items such as photographs, artwork, and the like may be affixed in accordance with customary practices.
- Items such as signs and posters may be affixed to the outward-facing side of office doors (including door frames), other workspace doors (including door frames), and cubicle walls. No such item may exceed 11 x 17 inches, nor may items be combined to create an image exceeding 11 x 17 inches.
- No items may be affixed in front of, or to the interior, exterior, or frame of any window in an HLS building, including windows of offices and workspaces, nor may any item be affixed to or hung from an office or workspace balcony or any other part of the exterior of an HLS building.
- Use of electrical or battery-operated lighting strips such as holiday lighting, rope lighting, or fairy lights is prohibited.
Dorm/Residence Hall Rooms
The following rules apply to occupants of dormitory and residence hall rooms.
- For the interior of dormitory or residence hall rooms, items may be affixed to walls in accordance with Housing Handbook rules for decorations and hangings.
- Items such as signs and posters may be affixed to the outward-facing side of dormitory or residence hall room doors and door frames. However, no such item may exceed 11 x 17 inches, nor may items be combined to create an image exceeding 11 x 17 inches.
- No items may be affixed in front of, or to the interior, exterior, or frame of, any window in an HLS building, including windows of dormitory or residence-halls, nor may any item be affixed to, hung from, or otherwise displayed on a dormitory or residence hall room balcony or any other part of the exterior of a dormitory or residence hall building.
- Use of electrical or battery-operated lighting strips such as holiday lighting, rope lighting, or fairy lights is prohibited.
