The Occupied Palestinian Territories
Roni Druks is a Public Service Venture Fund fellow who has devoted her legal academic career to the study of international human rights law. Prior to coming to law school, Roni worked as a data coordinator for the New York Legal Assistance Group’s Storm Response Unit where she helped write reports and FEMA appeals for individuals impacted by Hurricane Sandy. As a student at Harvard Law School, Roni worked in the Harvard Law School International Human Rights Clinic on projects concerning victims of toxic remnants of war and human rights abuses committed against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. In addition, she completed legal research for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia; worked on two class-action lawsuits against Chiquita Brands International, Inc., and Dole Food Company, Inc., for aiding and abetting human rights abuses in Colombia; and served as co-president of Advocates for Human Rights, a student practice organization that provides students with opportunities to gain practical experience in human rights advocacy. As a fellow, she will work for Yesh Din, a non-governmental organization promoting long-term, structural improvements to human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Her work will focus on researching the implications of the presence of private security contractors operating in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. In addition to receiving a JD from Harvard Law School, Roni holds a BA in sociocultural anthropology from Yale University.
