Before law school, Renuka worked at an underperforming public school as a tutor for sixth grade students in reading skills. During law school, she worked at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund on litigation challenging state education systems. She also interned at the Education Law Center, where she worked on a range of education matters. As part of the Child Advocacy Clinic, Renuka worked at Massachusetts Advocates for Children on school-to-prison pipeline issues. She also represented the family of a student experiencing trauma in special education matters as part of the Education Law Clinic. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Anthropology from Rice University.
