Upland Advisors contributes to the peaceful resolution of armed conflicts by providing advice on negotiation strategy, policy, and legal matters to peoples seeking sustainable peace as well as democracy, equality, and respect for human rights. UA supports the negotiating power of ethnic nationality stakeholders in Burma’s ceasefire and peace negotiation processes. Burma’s civil wars have lasted more than 70 years, and current negotiations involve dozens of parties and influencing actors. UA provides trusted assistance to ethnic political leaders, negotiators, and civil society organizations. UA also supports consensus building and advocacy efforts on issues including constitutional change, human rights, and law reform.
Jason has advised ethnic nationality organizations from Burma since 2013. At HLS, he participated in the International Human Rights Clinic and was a co-president of the Law and International Development Society. Jason graduated with a dual degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy. He has also worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors in Vietnam, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Turkey, and the United States.
