Lila Greiner will spend her fellowship year at the Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC), a Virginia-based
non-profit organization that works across seven issue areas to fight for racial, social, and
economic justice through direct representation legal services, impact litigation, policy work, and
community organizing. Lila worked at LAJC during her 2L summer and is thrilled to rejoin the
team. Lila will be joining the litigation team, serving as an Immigrants’ Rights Litigation Fellow
and focusing on addressing issues with immigration enforcement and other policies that impact
the ability of immigrants to live freely in Virginia.

While at HLS, Lila spent three semesters at the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, as well
as one semester at the Crimmigration Clinic. Through these experiences Lila worked on a myriad
of issues, including bond denials for asylum seekers, affirmative and defensive asylum cases,
FTCA litigation, and research on solitary confinement in immigration detention. Her 1L summer
was spent at Ayuda, helping clients access humanitarian immigration aid such as U-Visas, TVisas,
and asylum. During her 2L summer at LAJC Lila was a member of the immigration team
and worked on Virginia FOIA litigation, asylum cases and appeals, and state-level immigration
policy. Lila was a member of the Harvard Law School Immigration Project for all three years she
was at HLS, including serving on the board for two years. She was also an article editor and then
senior article editor for the Harvard Law Latin American Law Review across her three years. In
addition, Lila served on the boards of the Women’s Law Association and HLS Lambda and
played six seasons of HL Flag Football.

Lila graduated from Rice University in 2018 with a B.A. in Political Science and Latin American
Studies. She minored in Politics, Law, and Social Thought and received certificates in Spanish
and Civic Leadership. Prior to law school Lila was an Episcopal Service Corps Fellow, during
which she was placed as a community organizer at GreenRoots. In this role she served the
immigrant-heavy communities of Chelsea, Massachusetts and East Boston, focusing on energy
democracy work. Lila is originally from Alexandria, Virginia and is an avid reader, Washington
Nationals fan, and dog lover.
