As a legislative counsel in the Legislative Drafting Unit of New York City Council, Jacob will be working with subcommittee staff on researching and drafting new bills. As a law student, Jacob worked as a research assistant for Professor Cass Sunstein, was a judicial intern for Hon. Ellen S. Huvelle at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and participated in the Green New York clinic. He also worked as a summer associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and worked as a volunteer Certified Law Student at Metropolitan Public Defender Services, where he won a trial acting as the sole attorney for his client. Jacob has a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Grinnell College, and was a finalist for a Harry S. Truman Scholarship. Before law school, he worked at the Office of Chairwoman Edith Ramirez of the Federal Trade Commission.
