Ellyn will provide direct services in housing law to low-income tenants in Alameda County as a staff attorney in Bay Area Legal Aid. Ellyn has represented public housing tenants and Section 8 voucher recipients as a student representative at Harvard’s Tenant Advocacy Project and as a student advocate at the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative of the Education Law Clinic. She also worked as an intern at the ACLU of Northern California, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and the law firm of Shilepsky Hartley Robb Casey Michon LLP through the Employment Law Clinic. She served as an Executive Technical Editor of the Journal of Law and Gender, and was a conference co-chair of the Women’s Law Association. Ellyn holds a B.S. with Distinction in Pure Mathematics from the University of Michigan. After her undergraduate education, Ellyn worked as an English Language and Culture assistant in Spain, helping high school students and teachers with English.
