Matthew Griechen will spend his fellowship year with Reprieve working on its projects related to human rights and counterterrorism. While at Harvard, Matthew spent two years in the International Human Rights Clinic. With the Clinic, he worked on human trafficking litigation and humanitarian disarmament advocacy related to nuclear weapons, toxic remnants of war, and autonomous weapons systems. As a first-year, he also researched corporate accountability through Advocates for Human Rights. During his summers, he interned at The Constitution Project and the ACLU’s National Security Project. Prior to law school, Matthew spent two years in the international human rights practice group of a D.C. law firm, supporting litigation to obtain remedies for victims of torture, human trafficking, and other international law violations. He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University in Political Science and Human Rights.
