Andres will focus on immigrant and workers’ rights at the NLSLA. He will prepare U-visa petitions, collaborate with community-based organizations, and engage in direct client representation for labor law disputes. Andres has worked with Spanish-speaking immigrants at Harvard’s Immigration and Refugee Clinic and at the New York Legal Assistance Group, aiding them with U-visa petitions and asylum applications. He also gained litigation experience as a student public defense attorney at the Criminal Justice Institute where he represented juvenile and adult indigent criminal defendants in state court. He was a board member of Harvard’s Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and worked as a research assistant for Professor Deborah Anker. Andres has a B.A. in sociology with High Honors from University of California, Berkeley.
