Fair Employment Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce violations of employment civil rights by providing information and legal assistance to workers and their advocates. Our client base consists primarily of low-income workers in Massachusetts.
The Fair Employment Project hosts volunteers who are law students, new law graduates, and licensed attorneys. No experience necessary; will train.
Most volunteers contribute a few hours per week for several months, on their own schedules.
We do most of our work remotely, with some optional in-person events.
Depending on interest and availability, volunteers might do one or more of the following: handle client intakes (mostly by telephone); research issues related to workplace law and related topics; attend virtual webinars and tutorials on workplace law, access-to-justice issues; attend in-person clinics (usually in Boston area).
We especially need Spanish and Haitian-Creole speakers.
Eligible for HLS pro bono credit.
To express interest contact Project Director and Counsel, Lisa Bernt at LBernt@fairemploymentproject.org with a resume and your availability with a cc: to lmestre@law.harvard.edu in the Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs.
