The Bail Project

Katherine Robinson was awarded the Sumner M. Redstone Fellowship in Public Service to work at The Bail Project, the first nationwide bail fund. There she will aid clients seeking to post bail, facilitate the organization’s expansion into new jurisdictions, and pursue litigation related to the bail system. During her time at law school, Katherine represented clients facing criminal charges as a student attorney with Harvard Defenders and the Criminal Justice Institute. She also served for two years on the board of the Prison Legal Assistance Project, representing incarcerated clients in disciplinary hearings and coordinating the organization’s representation of clients in parole hearings. As part of the Capital Punishment Clinic, Katherine worked on death penalty litigation at the Southern Center for Human Rights. Katherine spent her summers during law school at the Orleans Public Defender and the Los Angeles County Public Defender. Prior to law school, Katherine worked as a paralegal at the private public interest firm Altshuler Berzon LLP. She received her undergraduate degree in History and Human Rights from Columbia University in 2013.
