Episode 1: Brad Conner Part 1
Brad Conner, Faculty Assistant
In the kickoff to our third season, Edgar sits down with Brad Conner, who has worked at HLS for over 30 years. Brad Conner was born and rasied in Hurricane, West Virginia. He left for college, where he originally studied mathematics and accounting, but soon realized that music was his passion. With the support of his mother he changed courses and graduated with a double degree in music history.
Music has been a major part of Brad’s life. He taught himself how to play piano and participated in marching band at school. Brad also sang in the church’s choir growing up and started taking singing seriously in college.
As well as music, he is also a polyglot. Brad speaks 5 languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian and English. While in school, he traveled abroad, taking summer classes in Salzburg, Austria. Brad and his partner Ben still love to travel quite often, and one of his fondest memories was the first trip he took with his father spending three weeks in England and France.
Tune in next week for the second part of Edgar’s conversation with Brad!
The goal of this podcast is to introduce folks to HLS staff members from across the community. You may recognize the names of some guests, and if you don’t, that’s okay! We hope that you will tune in to learn more about your colleagues—what their role is, what makes them tick, and why they do the work that they do at HLS. If you’re interested in being a guest, please let us know—we would love to hear your story. Our stories bring us together; we come from different backgrounds and serve all different roles, but our shared community at HLS unites us. Let us hear your story!
