Episode 20: Susan Arteta Part 1
Susana Arteta, Administrative Director for Harvard Legal Aid Bureau
In the first part of this two part episode, Edgar learns of Susana’s wonderful family and how she ended up at HLS. She talks about her family’s connections to Peru, Venezuela, Spain, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Susana spent most of her childhood in Puerto Rico and eventually coming to the states for college, while her parents decided to settle in Costa Rica.
She tells us about her challenging experiences at school, and her choice to take a leave in college and reconnect with her family before returning to finish her degree. We learn about her interest in Anthropology, which led her to many different destinations across the southwest and Latin America.
The goal of this podcast is to introduce folks to HLS staff members from across the community. You may recognize the names of some guests, and if you don’t, that’s okay! We hope that you will tune in to learn more about your colleagues—what their role is, what makes them tick, and why they do the work that they do at HLS. If you’re interested in being a guest, please let us know—we would love to hear your story. Our stories bring us together; we come from different backgrounds and serve all different roles, but our shared community at HLS unites us. Let us hear your story!
