Episode 19: Myrka Cuji

Myrka Cuji, Faculty Assistant

In this episode, Edgar sits down with Myrka Cuji in FSS.  Myrka was born in New York to Ecuadorian immigrant parents.  They discuss the difference between cultures, family celebrations, and the language of Kichwa (a native language in Ecuador). We learn about the pressures she experienced as a first-gen immigrant going to undergrad.  After going to college, Myrka decided to  explore more of the world, traveling to South Korea for six months.  She is currently taking time to discover what interests her and where she wants to take her next step.

Some fun facts about Myrka:

-Her favorite season is autumn
-She has 3 younger siblings
-Two of her favorite books are Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and The Secret History by Donna Tartt
-If she could give her younger self some advice, she would say it’s okay and healthy to take a break.
