Harvard Mediation Program

Established in 1981, the Harvard Mediation Program (HMP) is part of the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program. HMP members are HLS students and community members who mediate court cases in metropolitan Boston as well as conflicts between disputing parties outside of the legal system. In order to maintain the neutrality of our mediators, we’ll always do conflict checks before assigning a case.

This is a free service for all parties involved. Whether you’re having problems with a loud neighbor, a roommate who never cleans, or other housing issues such as trash or visual nuisance, the Harvard Mediation Program is a dispute resolution resource available to HLS residents.

If you’re having a dispute which you think could benefit from mediation, you can contact the Harvard Mediation Program:

By email – hmpintake@law.harvard.edu
Online – http://clinics.law.harvard.edu/hmp/referring-a-case/
By phone – (617) 495-1854

If your case is suitable for mediation, we’ll schedule a date with you and the other party as soon as possible.
