Stanley Sterling Surrey (1910-1984) served on the Harvard Law School faculty from 1950 to 1984. He was a Professor of Law 1950-1958; Jeremiah Smith, Jr. Professor of Law 1958-1961 and 1969-1981; and an Emeritus professor 1981-1984.
