Elisabeth Ann Owens (1919-1998) served on the Harvard Law School faculty from 1956 to 1998. She was a Research Assistant in Law 1956-1961; Research Associate in Law and Editor of Publications in the International Program in Taxation 1961-1964; Lecturer on Law and Research Associate in Law 1964-1965; Lecturer on International Tax Law and Senior Research Associate in Law 1967-1972; Professor of Law 1972-1976; Henry L. Shattuck Professor of Law 1976-1981; and an Emeritus professor 1981-1998. She was the first woman granted tenure at Harvard Law School.
