Detlev Frederick Vagts (1929-2013) served on the Harvard Law School faculty from 1959 to 2013. He was an Assistant Professor of Law 1959-1962; Professor of Law 1962-1980; Eli Goldston Professor of Law 1980-1984; Bemis Professor of International Law 1984-2005; and an Emeritus professor 2005-2013. He ran the J.D./M.B.A. joint degree program from its inception in 1969 until 2005.
