Aleema Jamal

Aleema is a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she serves public sector and financial services clients on strategy, sustainability, and economic development. Over her 6+ years at the firm, Aleema has worked across a broad range of industries including healthcare, education, global energy and materials, and with the McKinsey Global Institute.
Prior to McKinsey, Aleema was the inaugural Executive Director of the Century Initiative, a registered charity which convenes Canadian CEOs, academic, and public-sector leaders to thoughtfully enhance Canada’s economic strength and resilience over the long-term.
Aleema’s academic and research interests are at the intersection of international development and post-conflict societies, environmental sustainability, and negotiation. Her international experience includes engaging on transitional justice, governance, and civil society issues for Syria, Jordan, and South Sudan. She also worked on the policy team for the Asia-Africa Summit on Chronic Diseases, held in Kampala, and has led health and technology-focused development projects in East Africa and South Asia.
Aleema was awarded the Derek Bok Distinction in Teaching award at Harvard University, the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal, and Canada’s Top 20 Under 20 Award.
Aleema holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University, Phi Beta Kappa, an M.Sc. in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School.
