Gain the tools and frameworks to excel in today’s technology-driven legal landscape.
Artificial intelligence is poised to disrupt the ways that we work and live. It is essential for legal professionals to cultivate a broad understanding of the implications of AI on the law, legal organizations, clients, and stakeholders.
AI and the Law: Navigating the New Legal Landscape, developed in partnership with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, will provide participants with a strong foundational understanding of AI technology. Building on this, the program will explore the laws that govern AI and similar technologies and how the practice of law will be impacted by AI.
Participants will learn about how laws pertaining to intellectual property, privacy, health care, and antitrust are undergoing rapid change (both in the United States and abroad) – and will have the opportunity to discuss the implications of those ongoing reforms with the faculty teaching team and with the participant cohort. Further, participants will gain tools and frameworks to think about technological disruption – how to manage change with internal and external stakeholders, how best to take advantage of what AI has to offer, and how to navigate the implementation of AI in business processes.
Throughout AI and the Law: Navigating the New Legal Landscape, faculty from Harvard Law School and across Harvard University, as well as experts from other schools around the world, will share cutting-edge insights, research, and perspectives on new legal questions raised by this novel technology. Participants will have the opportunity to connect and discuss how best to navigate the changes brought on by AI and how it can be leveraged in business processes and strategy. Participants will engage with faculty and peers to brainstorm the ideas, risks, and challenges that come with such a change, enhancing their understanding of these complex issues.
AI and the Law: Navigating the New Legal Landscape will give participants the knowledge, tools, and frameworks to understand and navigate how best to use AI and plan for the future. In this program, participants will:

Analyze the laws that govern AI technologies, for example, privacy, health, and intellectual property law.
Examine the risks and challenges of adoption of AI — and of failure to adopt the technology.
Identify uses of AI that can improve legal organizations, business processes, and strategy.
Engage thoughtfully in current AI policy debates around governance and the future of the legal profession.
