Experts estimate that within a year the internet as we’ve known it will have been supplanted by one where the vast majority of content comes from bots. If there’s one thing we’ve learned as generative AI struts out of the lab and into our feeds and phones and lives, it is how confidently and flamboyantly it lies. With a lack of ethical oversight, AI’s inability to tell lies from truth, and its impacts on the economy of information creation, we are at a clear inflection point in how people create, access, and trust information.

Join FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, with whom we will hold a conversation about the future of information and the ways that government, academia, private companies and civil society can each take a role in preserving and rebuilding trust in our institutions. Chairwoman Rosenworcel will be joined by Martha Minow, 300th Anniversary Professor and former Dean of Harvard Law School, and Tracy Chou, CEO of Block Party and former engineer at Quora and Pinterest. The panel will be moderated by Nancy Gibbs, Director of the Shorenstein Center and Edward R. Murrow Professor at HKS.
