The HLS Alumni Center presents a lunchtime talk with Reginald Brown J.D. ’96. This event is part of the Traphagen Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series, where HLS alumni speak informally about their careers.
Kirkland & Ellis LLP partner Reginald “Reg” Brown advises companies and senior executives on investigations, crisis management, and matters at the intersection of government, law, media, and public policy. Chambers Band One rated in both Crisis Management and Congressional Investigations, he has assisted clients with more than 150 congressional inquiries, as well as numerous federal, state, and international investigations and crisis matters. He also leads teams responding to significant Department of Justice, State Attorneys General, and other regulatory and enforcement matters for leading financial institutions, investment firms, energy companies, government contractors, healthcare organizations, technology companies, universities, CEOs, and public officials.
Reg previously served in the White House Counsel’s Office under President George W. Bush, where he was the principal legal liaison to the Departments of Treasury and Housing and Urban Development and several independent financial services agencies. He also advised the White House Office of Political Affairs, Presidential Personnel Office, and National Economic Council. Earlier in his career, Reg served as Deputy General Counsel to Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Special Assistant to the CEO of Nationwide Insurance, and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Federated States of Micronesia.
An honors graduate of Yale and Harvard Law School, Reg lives in Northern Virginia. He serves on the nonprofit boards of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the Property and Environment Research Center, and the Foundation for Excellence in Education, as well as on the board of Blackstone, the world’s largest private equity firm.
