“The Smell of Money” is centered around a rural North Carolina community (mostly composed of American Descendants of Slavery) fighting the North Carolina state legislature and the factory-farm conglomerate, Smithfield Foods, for the right to clean air and water.
Issues such as environmental racism, the exploitation of low-income communities, and the welfare of animals are tackled.
This event will feature a screening of the documentary, “The Smell of Money” and a Q&A with writer and producer, Jamie Berger. Vegan food will be provided.
