The NCAA has transformed in the past few years – and this upheaval may only be accelerating.

Since the Supreme Court’s 2021 decision in NCAA v. Alston, student-athletes can monetize their name, image and likeness rights (“NIL”). The legal implications against the NCAA haven’t stopped there, however. The NCAA and its member schools are currently responding to legal challenges against their rules governing amateurism, NIL monetization, transfers, and student-athletes’ status as non-employees. If any of these challenges succeed, the NCAA may face billions of dollars in damages and, even more so, be fundamentally re-shaped.

This panel will explore the litigation battleground against the NCAA and speculate if and how the NCAA might evolve in the next 3-5 years (and whether the NCAA can survive at all!).
