How did Jewish Orthodoxy become part of the base of the Republican Party? This talk focuses on the political transformation of American right-wing groups and the Jewish community during the 1980s. Based on new archival research it explores the relationship between the “New Right,” the Reagan Administration, and Orthodox communal organizations and rabbinical leaders.
