How should we treat a medical emergency during a mission to Mars? One of the major obstacles for deep-space exploration cited by NASA is the lack of guidance for responding to medical emergencies during spaceflight missions. Join Dr. Ryan Zahalka and Jonathan Iwry (HLS ‘20) as they discuss the legal, ethical, and policy dimensions of medical decision-making in space—and propose a new framework for handling medical emergencies during deep-space missions.
