Mississippi Delta Project celebration event invite

The Mississippi Delta Project (MDP) looks forward to seeing you at our annual Delta Celebration on Tuesday, November 4, at 5:30 pm. The celebration/reception will be held in Milstein West AB of the Wasserstein building (WCC 2019) on the Harvard Law School campus in Cambridge, MA.

The Celebration is an opportunity to meet and reconnect with members of the Harvard community, the Delta Directions Consortium, MDP student leaders, and guests who share a commitment to the Delta region and supporting rural communities. We will also be joined by the Delta Scholars, who will be on campus as part of their Boston Conference, a follow-up to their Summer Institute program in the Delta.

We are also excited to invite you to lunch on November 4 (12:30 pm), where we will enjoy a fireside chat with Dr. Oscar Brookins, emeritus faculty in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University. Dr. Brookins, an accomplished economist and a native of Yazoo County, is currently writing a memoir about growing up in Mississippi. We will explore themes from his memoir and reflect on why focusing on community-centered work in the Delta is so important in this moment. The fireside chat will also be in Milstein West (WCC 2019) on the Harvard Law School campus.
