Mayor JD Mangat: A Conversation with the First South Asian Mayor in Colorado

Join HLS Dems for an exclusive opportunity to meet and interact with Mayor JD Mangat, the trailblazing first South Asian mayor in Colorado and youngest elected mayor of the city of Lafayette. Born and raised in a community where South Asian representation in public office was virtually nonexistent, Mangat’s passion for public service was ignited early. He began serving on the City Council of Lafayette, CO in 2018. After further contributing to his community by working as a public school teacher, he won the Lafayette mayoral election in 2021 and has served as mayor since.

Scheduled for March 29th from 12:20 – 1:20pm, this is a rare chance to hear firsthand from a leader who has broken barriers and paved new paths in public service.
