WCC; B010 Singer Classroom

Our spring subcite this year is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th from 10am-2pm — food provided! We would be thrilled to welcome you to JOL if this is your first time engaging with the journal, or to welcome you back! Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd6iJFIwI0Mb23w-8_tDd6OkeC7MLX6F1M42OjbaFJG6o1AUw/viewform?usp=preview.

During the Subcite, Subciters will work together to edit a range of footnotes on one of our forthcoming articles. Editing involves ensuring cited sources substantiate the author’s claim and Bluebooking the technical aspects of the citations. Subciters generally complete their work at the subcite. To receive recognition on the masthead, subciters also must attend the final editing check (called Galleys) for approximately one hour in April. This is a crucial part of the journal process, and we are thrilled you are considering JOL.

Why subcite?
– Engage with legal scholarship outside of class
– Improve your Bluebooking skills
– Expand your network on campus
– Cultivate experiences that shine during the job search

Why JOL?
– One of the oldest and most reputable student-run journals at HLS
– JOL’s large staff means you will meet many new friends and expand your network beyond your section
– JOL publishes at least two members of Congress every year, giving you the chance to work on pieces by high-profile authors. (Past authors include Joe Biden, Marco Rubio, and many others)
– Bipartisanship: we publish articles across the ideological spectrum because we value encouraging discussion

Please direct any questions to the Editors-in-Chief (Alex Siegal – asiegal@jd26.law.harvard.edu and Devon Bombassei – dbombassei@jd26.law.harvard.edu); or the Managing Editor (Carolyn Daly – cdaly@jd26.law.harvard.edu).
