Ending a Legacy of Slavery with One Fair Wage: Join us for a conversation with Saru Jayaraman, President of One Fair Wage and Director of the Food Labor Research Center at UC Berkeley, to discuss the campaign to end MA’s subminimum wage for tipped workers, which provides just $7 an hour to a workforce of mostly women working in casual restaurants across the state, suffering from the highest rates of economic instability and sexual harassment of any industry. Professor Jayaraman will also discuss how to use your legal education to lead movements that include but are not exclusive to legal work. Lunch will be provided.
