Global South countries are facing at great risks, insolvency to foreign debts, low self-sufficiency in food and energy and great climate risks. Those countries need desperate help for advanced countries. Dr. Ndongo Samba Sylla, a Senegalese development economist, will give us a new insight how advanced countries should save Global South countries, focusing on the foreign debt issue in Global South (including the Debt Cancellation Initiative) and how conventional or mainstream economics strategies harm the Global South Countries. After the event, the audience can get a different view from the conventional thought.

He has previously worked as a technical advisor at the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, and is Programme manager at the West Africa office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. He is the co-author of Africa’s Last Colonial Currency: The CFA Franc Story and author of The Fair Trade Scandal.
