Building Decarceral Futures: Abolitionist Theory and Praxis in Legal Services and Litigation

This panel will discuss frameworks and strategies for abolitionist lawyering and building of decarceral futures within our current carceral world. The speakers include three Harvard PLAP alums doing different forms of decarceral lawyering, joined by the Prison Law Office’s Trans Beyond Bars Project Manager. The panel will discuss various approaches to visioning and doing abolitionist legal work in the contexts of Indian country, trans rights, and movement lawyering.
