Please join the Committee on Sports & Entertainment Law for a discussion with two of the world’s leading international sports lawyers, Dr. Despina Mavromati and Paul Greene.  Human rights discourse has an ever-increasing impact on international sports – and this appears to bring about structural transformations in the regulatory drafting of international sports federations but also the decision-making by private and public adjudicating bodies.  The recent Semenya case by the European Court of Human Rights exemplified these tensions but also raised several new questions about the scope and limits of athletes’ rights.  Dr. Despina Mavromati and Paul Greene will discuss – among others – the Semenya judgment and its potential implications on regulatory drafting and dispute resolution in international sports in the future. Lunch will be served for those who RSVP.
