Perry has been a Senior Counsel at the Department of Justice Antitrust Division since 2021, and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan Law School. Before joining the DOJ, Perry served as a staffer on the House Judiciary Committee for 30 years, the last 20 as Democratic Staff Director and Chief Counsel. In that capacity, he helped respond to or lead three presidential impeachments as well as a series of high-profile congressional investigations. He supervised the first-ever House action to enforce a congressional subpoena in federal court and two subsequent House subpoena enforcement actions during the Trump administration.
