Join Lindsay Bailey, Staff Attorney at the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA), to learn about The United States v. Michael Correa. Michael Correa is alleged to have been a member of The Junglers, a paramilitary death squad that committed torture and other serious human rights abuses in The Gambia under former President Yahya Jammeh. In the fall, Correa will become only the third person to face trial in the United States under the extraterritorial torture act. Lindsay will discuss CJA’s work with victims in the case, and how the U.S. prosecution supports broader efforts for justice and accountability in The Gambia.
