Khaled Kabub is an Israeli-Arab judge and became the Supreme Court’s first Muslim member when he was appointed as justice in 2022. Born in 1958 in Israel. In 1981, Justice Kabub completed his studies in History and Islam at Tel Aviv University & In 1988, he completed his law studies at Tel Aviv University. Between 1987-1989, he interned at a law firm and at the Magistrate’s Court in Tel Aviv. In 1989, he was certified as an attorney. Between 1989-1997, he worked as an independent attorney. In September 1997, he was appointed as a judge at the Magistrate’s Court in Netanya. In June 2003, he was appointed as a judge at the District Court in Tel Aviv. Between 2003-2021, he used to teach various courses at Bar-Ilan University in the field of corporations, as well as at Ono Academic College in the corporate-economic field. In 2011, he completed his Master’s degree in Commercial Law with honors (summa cum laude), a joint degree from Tel Aviv University and UC Berkeley in California. From that year, he served as a judge in the Economic Division of the Tel Aviv District Court, which he eventually headed. In September 2017, he was appointed as Deputy President of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa District Court. In May 2022, he was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court and received a doctorate in law from Bar-Ilan University on the topic of “The Dividend Puzzle.” Justice Kabub has published various legal articles, mainly in the field of corporate law, in leading journals.
